​For the past 16 years, Michael has served as the resident director of the prestigious Lucille Lortel Awards, the premier ceremony celebrating excellence in Off-Broadway theatre. Named for the legendary Lucille Lortel—an actress and groundbreaking producer revered as the “Queen of Off-Broadway”—the awards were established in 1986 by the Off-Broadway League to honor her unparalleled contributions to the field. Produced by the League in special arrangement with the Lucille Lortel Theatre Foundation and with support from the Theatre Development Fund, the event has grown into a glittering highlight of the New York theatre calendar. Over the past decade, Michael has collaborated with a dazzling lineup of A-list talent, crafting unforgettable evenings that pay tribute to the bold, daring, and diverse voices that define Off-Broadway.

Heitzman & Reid performed a night of their material at this iconic club, The Cutting Room, which has a rich history that includes some of today's top performers - John Mayer, Lady Gaga, Sting, Sheryl Crow. It was a night to remember with Broadway stars Caissie Levy, Ann Harada, John Arthur Green, Justin Sargent, Whitney Bashor, Teal Wicks, Ray Lee, Jesse Nager, and Manhattan Transfer’s original member Janice Siegel performing Heitzman & Reid originals.

BINGO (the winning musical) is a wildly fun, high-energy comedy about a group of passionate bingo fanatics who will do anything—and we mean anything—to make it to their weekly game. Amidst outrageous superstitions, cutthroat rivalries, and unexpected twists of fate, old flames rekindle, lifelong friendships are tested, and the balls just keep on rolling. And the best part? The audience gets to play along! Michael brought the magic back to life when he directed and co-produced the sold-out reunion concert at New York’s iconic cabaret venue, Feinstein’s/54 Below, for a house buzzing with nostalgia and laughter.
